Keep God in Marriage

In the middle of your marriage

The best thing you can do for your marriage is keep God in the middle of it. Not only your partner needs to connect with God alone and also you need to spend time with God together every day. Pray for each other and pray with each other. Read the Bible together and talk about it. Share with each other your spiritual struggles, doubts, convictions, hopes, values and dreams. Do not leave them vague, unspoken or assumed.

Something happens when two people connect not only with each other but also with God. The Lord Himself gets behind you and starts working with you and the Holy Spirit will guide you and show the path to take. As you nurture a relationship with God, you will find that your relationship with your spouse grows stronger and deeper, too.  Proverbs 3:3-4 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Some of the stressful situations

After the honeymoon, when it is time to go back to work, pay the bills and mortgage, fix the garbage disposal, and balance the check book and all the other everyday situations starts getting to you. When you are just like everyone else again, you may feel your relationship ideals put to test. There is no time anymore for evenings by the fireplace and walks along the beach. There is no money extra now for outings, restaurants and etc……… Real life is so ordinary and time-consuming that it can drain your best intentions and erode your closest connections. Beware of how easy it is to let busy-ness get the best of you. Make a conscious decision to schedule time to be with your partner and with God from this day forward.  1 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV) now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.  And in King James it says –Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Overcoming situations

Now good news is God wants us to get over our walls. He wants to have a relationship with us. So ask Him for HELP. And he is eager to invest himself and all his resources into making this relationship grow. All that we have to do is ask! The Bible tells us we can do everything with God’s help (Philippians 4:13)

Ephesians 2:13-15 but now in Christ Jesus who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. Ephesians 2:22 and in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
